My 15 Month Old Check Up

Well, I am definitely a healthy girl! I went to the Doctors for my 15 month check up yesterday, and other than the FIVE shots I had to have, I came out pretty good! The Pediatrician thinks that I am pretty up to speed with the other kids my age. She wants me to work on waving bye bye and pointing at things with my index finger. She also said that I should go see a dentist! Apparently the American Dental Association recommends that kids start seeing a dentist right around the time they turn one year old...

So, they took my stats and here is how it came out: My weight was 21.4 pounds which is the 25th percentile. My height is 30" which is the 75th percentile!!! WOW! I grew 4 whole inches in 4 months! The doctor said that I am not so proportionate... I am tall and skinny.... Hmmm, where in the world do I get that from?? haha

Mommy's Work

A lot of you know that Mommy has gone back to school at the Art Institute and is working towards her Bachelor of Science in Interior Architecture and Design. She just finished her favorite class yet, a drawing class! She thought some of you might be interested to see a couple of her projects from the class. She had about 2 drawings per week due along with other assignments.... Some of you have only seen the portraits that she has done, but this is a variety! Enjoy

The above drawing was a profile drawing done by photograph.

The picture above is a still life that Mommy drew. It is a soap dispenser, candle and canister. This was drawn from life.

The picture below was a study of a piece of furniture. The instructor says that as an interior designer, she has to understand how to draw furniture.

The picture to the right is a figure study, drawn from a picture. It was supposed to be a quick sketch, done in 15-20 minutes.

And, the picture below was Mommy's final project. It was another still life with objects that were not supposed to correlate to one another.

Hanging Out Outside!

This is us after we had hiked a mile and a half to get an oasis in the desert! We stopped and had dinner on these big rocks! I was so hungry and thirsty, even though I didn't do any hiking! Lucky me, I got to ride in the jogging stroller for a lot of the time. That is, until it got so rocky that we had to ditch the stroller part way and pick it up on our way back!
I just love playing outside, especially in an field! I liked to carry around the golf clubs and golf balls... Oh, and I liked to run away from Mommy and have her chase me!!

Girl Time!!

Look what Mommy and I did today?! After my naptime, Mommy said that it was time to make me into a girly-girl. She brought out the nail polish and painted my toes! I was a very good girl and sat still the whole time. Most of you who know me, know that I DON"T EVER SIT STILL! Mommy was so happy and so was I. I smiled the whole time. Daddy said that I am too young to wear "make-up." I think not!! Mommy assured him that nail polish is not make-up.. I think that he just wants me to stay his little baby girl... (He smiled when we were doing it, anyway!)

So, what do y'all think? Do I look pretty with painted toes?!

A Day at the Park!

I got to go to the park today before my naptime! I had so much fun and this time I got to play all by myself! Enjoy the pictures of me having fun! I got to walk around in the grass with Eli too! My favorite things to do at the park were swing on the swings, go down the slide with Daddy, and eat the leaves and wood chips!!

I got to go down the slide all by myself and I wasn't scared at all! Well, Daddy held onto my leg to make sure I didn't fall or get scared!

And, I had fun going down the slide with Daddy too! He was being silly and going down backwards!

I had so much fun at the park and hope we can go back soon!

Nothing New...

Not much going on here lately... Thought everyone would still want to see some pictures anyway! See, I'm not different! However, Daddy and Mommy keep saying that I have learned how to use my voice! I love to walk around the room and scream as loud as I can! Then, I look at Mommy and smile just to make sure that she heard me. My new favorite thing to do is get into the drawers on the couch table and end tables. I pull out the remotes and then put them all back. Mommy is so happy that I am learning how to clean up. I even help Eli pick up toys sometimes too! (I like taking the toys out better though!)
Another thing that is a big step for me is that about a week ago, Daddy and Mommy threw my bottle in the trash! I don't even care anymore! I love my big girl sippy cups, and I don't even need anything in my crib with me anymore! Daddy and Mommy are so happy to be over that hurdle with me. I just had to give them a hard time first!

Just Me!

A lot of people comment on what a good eater I am. Mommy and Daddy are always surprised at how much I eat. Here is me at lunch time eating my mac and cheese! (Notice how much hair I have in the above picture!!)

I also wanted to add that Daddy and Mommy keep saying that I am a big girl now. As of a few days ago, I am only drinking 1 bottle a day. Other than that, I have found out that I really like sippy cups!! Mommy and Daddy are hoping that within the next couple of days, I can get rid of my bottle and only drink out of big girl cups.
